What is the average fee for hiring a party band?
Party band hire costs vary across acts and genres, and are influenced by how long you need their set to be, whether there will be multiple sets, and things like travel time to and from your venue. A 12-piece swing band will come in at a higher price point than a trio, for example, and an act who will be playing before, during and after a dinner event will likely cost more than a party band hired solely to keep the dancefloor moving at an afterparty.
Dates and timings will also impact the overall fee, with Saturdays typically commanding a higher price point than weekdays, and Fridays and Sundays not far behind. Will our band take special requests?
Absolutely! Some party bands may charge a per-song fee to learn and rehearse specific songs if they aren’t already in the band’s standard repertoire, but the musicians on our roster are all well-versed in the art of special requests. Perhaps there’s a song that’s particularly special to you, or to a central guest – let us know when we’re booking your act, and we’ll work with them to make sure you hear it.
Do you need a music license to hire a live party band?
Events that take place in private homes and gardens do not require a music license – unless you’re planning to charge your loved ones to attend! Most venues that can be hired for corporate events, weddings and private parties will have their own music license, but in some rare cases this may only cover background music and pre-recorded music. In these instances, an additional license may be required – let us know where your event will be and we’ll confirm if any additional arrangements are needed.
