London Shakes are an authentic, vintage-styled rhythm & blues band from the city they take their name. Comprised of a set of top young session and touring musicians, the group began initially as a recording outfit, inspired by the fabled era of studio session crews, often drawn to a blues-based feel.

They subsequently turned to the live circuit, playing a cocktail of early R&B, soul and club jazz – from Ray Charles to the Rolling Stones – with an outlook and energy for the modern age. While evoking a Soho club or a Greenwich Village apartment in the early ‘60s, the Shakes are as much about the here and now, when the light is low and the night is young.
